In January of 2021, when mPulse Mobile acquired streaming health education company, The Big Know, one of the most valuable aspects of the acquisition was the addition of Allison Gage to the executive team as Chief Engagement Officer. The unification of the two entities meant that mPulse’s leading conversational AI solutions for the healthcare industry would now also be backed by the cutting-edge streaming digital healthcare content that Allison had cultivated and overseen as President of The Big Know.
The collaboration offered a synergy to support the creation and delivery of demographically appropriate learning strategies and content to improve health across diverse populations while reaching and engaging with previously hard-to-reach consumer populations and helping clients to drastically improve their outcomes.
The union of the two organizations provided a melding opportunity to offer conversational AI along with what is known today as mPulse Streaming Education; uniquely captivating, award-winning cinematic content that both educates and activates consumer populations. The unique combination empowers individuals to improve their health and enables our healthcare partners to establish deeper relationships with their health consumers through the employment and delivery of behavioral science principles proven to engage audiences and prompt action to promote behavior change throughout their health journeys.
In her time with mPulse, Allison is most proud of the diverse, talented, capable team of engagement specialists that she has built. From all different backgrounds and talents, they have a proven capability to offer a passionate, unmatched array of complementary skills and knowledge that uniquely positions mPulse to provide its unsurpassed streaming video engagement products. It is Allison’s mission to leverage her team’s harmonized expertise to support customers in succeeding to engage their members on a personal level and ultimately overcome common health barriers.
Presently, Allison is overseeing the development of mPulse’s 6-month Comprehensive Diabetes Care Management solution that will utilize behavioral science principles to help diabetics to better manage their health. The program will consist of a series of interactive modules designed to aid member diabetic patients in: Learning to manage their condition; Examining their personal health beliefs; Increasing their self-efficacy; Setting personal goals and improving their day-to-day diabetes management habits. This holistic program will include SMS messaging and versatile multi-media learning experiences to utilize the best that each modality has to offer. The program will empower members to actively participate in their own health betterment by learning and practicing the skills of active diabetes management.
Allison’s leadership and healthcare contributions span back over two decades to include previous roles as the President of Sophia Learning, a first-of-its-kind social learning platform focused on supporting students in securing more affordable ways to get to and through college. Before joining Sophia, Allison served as the Executive Vice President of Living Independently Group, a venture-backed healthcare startup that launched the first smart, sensor-based health monitoring system for the aging services industry. Other roles in Allison’s career have included her time as a venture capitalist with Coral Ventures and LFE Capital and as a management consultant with Mercer Management Consulting.
In recognition of her achievements, Allison has been recognized by the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal as one of the “25 Women Change Makers,” in 2005 – a recognition awarded to women who have influenced catalytic changes through the impact their career has had upon their industry, company and/or community. Her leadership is further extended through her volunteerism as a Board Member of both The Nature Conservancy, a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive, and the Minnesota Children’s Museum.
Born in Hong Kong, Allison immigrated to the United States when she was six years old after which she moved frequently throughout her childhood. She has lived in California, Kansas, and Missouri, ultimately landing in Minnesota where she now resides with her husband, Scott, her two teenage children, Will and Elise, and their rescue pup Jonah.
